Told from the point of view of the black sheep middle sister, Beatrice, “Engaged” challenges cultural and religious stereotypes as two families meet for the first time at the engagement party of Eden, Beatrice's older and completely opposite older sister. Each family has a preconceived misconception of the other family, and as the party continues, tension builds, climaxing in one big family crisis. At the heart of the film is the idea of community, and what happens when a group of people with nothing in common have to find a way to exist together…at least until the party is over.
Directed by Dean Miyahira and written by Claire Yorita Lee, the cast includes Amanda Fuller (Last Man Standing, Grey's Anatomy), Kerri Pomarroli (The Tonight Show, Young and the Restless), Patty Toy Chung (NYPD Blue, Mad About You, Chicago Hope), as well as some very talented newcomers.
